VP Calls for Calm Politics and Farmer Support

RR Team, June 7, 2025June 7, 2025

Lower Political Temperature and Better Dialogue

The Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, called for lowering political tensions in the country. He said political parties must stop confrontations. Instead, dialogue should be calm and respectful. “Democracy thrives on dialogue and discourse,” he said.

He stressed that India is a federal country. Good coordination between the Centre and States is essential. Without proper dialogue, the national mindset will suffer. Leaders must talk and cooperate.

National Issues Beyond Party Line

Shri Dhankhar asked everyone to view national security, nationalism, and development through a national lens. Political parties should not see these issues as partisan. He believes good leaders and wise people exist in every party.

He also reminded that democracy depends on freedom of speech. When people cannot express their views freely, democracy weakens.

Industry Needs Faster Growth

The Vice-President noted that business results are clear from balance sheets. However, new greenfield industrial projects are growing slowly. He urged companies to work together in clusters. This will create more jobs and balanced growth.

Corporates Must Support Farmers

Shri Dhankhar called on the corporate sector to share profits with farmers. He said investing in farm research and land is smart business, not charity.

Coming from a farming background, he stressed the farm sector’s key role in India’s growth. But right now, farmers mainly produce raw products. They are not part of the full marketing chain.

Industry and farming must work together. Farmers need support. Agripreneurs, or farm entrepreneurs, must be helped to grow.

Focus on Research and Innovation

The Vice-President stressed that research will shape India’s future. Strong research improves global standing and national security.

He said peace is vital for business and social harmony. But peace comes from strength. A country must be ready to defend itself to stay peaceful.

Industry’s Role in National Security

Shri Dhankhar pointed out that industry’s role has changed. Earlier, it made only weapons. Now, it must lead in technology. Research is the backbone of long-term growth and security.

India’s Rising Future

The Vice-President declared that India is no longer just a country with potential. It is a country on the rise. The goal of a developed India is now real.

However, India must raise its per capita income sharply. With 1.4 billion people, an eightfold increase is needed to match its size.

Event and Attendees

The event in Bengaluru also saw the presence of Karnataka Governor Shri Thawarchand Gehlot, Deputy Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar, MP Shri Lahar Singh, and Health Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar.
