Yoga Connect 2025: A Global Pathway to One Earth, One Health

RR Team, June 15, 2025June 14, 2025

Yoga Connect 2025 Unites the World: ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’

Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi became a global hub of wellness today as Yoga Connect 2025 was inaugurated. The hybrid summit, organised by the Ministry of Ayush through the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), set the stage for the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21.

Focusing on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the event brought together over 1,000 participants. These included policymakers, Yoga masters, health experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, and global influencers. Significantly, the event was both virtual and in-person, enhancing participation from around the world.

Yoga: A Daily Practice, Not Just an Annual Event

While addressing the summit, Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav spoke on Yoga’s growing relevance in the modern wellness ecosystem. Citing national surveys, he emphasized that Yoga plays a major role in managing diabetes, improving heart health, aiding cancer recovery, and supporting elderly care.

Moreover, he stated that Yoga contributes to employment and skill-building, calling it the backbone of the Global Yoga Kranti and a driving force behind India’s wellness leadership.

In addition, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, lauded Prime Minister Modi’s vision for transforming Yoga from an individual to a national consciousness. He remarked,

“Yoga Connect is not just an event—it’s a lifestyle movement. Let us honour this wisdom not only on June 21, but every day.”

Global Yoga Masters Add Their Voice

Adding a global perspective, Swami Ramdev shared that nearly 2 billion people across 200 countries currently practise Yoga. He expressed hope that this number will reach 5 billion within the next five years.

Importantly, he linked Yoga to spiritual discipline and nation-building. Referring to scriptures, he noted,

“Each chapter of the Bhagavad Gita is Yoga. Daily discipline of mind and body—Yoga Anushasan—is crucial for personal and national development.”

On a similar note, Dr. Hansaji Yogendra pointed out that Yoga is not just about doing, but about being. According to her, intellect, emotion, and awareness must be involved. Meanwhile, Swami Chidanand Saraswati described Yoga as the ultimate tool of inclusiveness and unity.

Further, Shri Subodh Tiwari emphasized that Yoga Connect is more than a summit. It is a platform to unite people beyond borders, languages, and beliefs.

New Publications That Strengthen India’s Leadership

To underscore the event’s intellectual significance, several major publications were unveiled:

  • “Yoga Prabhava” – Decade-long impact assessment of IDY

  • “Surveykshan” – Yoga’s national footprint

  • Scientometric Study – Global Yoga research trends (by Pahle India Foundation & CCRYN)

  • “Bharatiya Vriksha Vaibhavam” – Highlighting India’s sacred trees

  • E-Book: “IDY – The Yogic Path of a Statesman’s Vision”

  • Yoga Samavesh Video – A powerful showcase of unity through mass Yoga

Each of these resources adds value by blending scientific research, cultural heritage, and community insights.

Cutting-Edge Deliberations on Future Yoga Trends

Throughout the day, six focused sessions explored Yoga’s relevance in modern life:

  1. Yoga for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention

  2. Therapeutic Applications of Yoga

  3. Scientific Studies on Common Yoga Protocols

  4. Women’s Health and Yoga Across Life Stages

  5. Yoga Technology and Innovation

  6. Yoga in Commerce and Industry

Notably, these sessions reflected a shift from traditional practice to Yoga as a scientific and commercial discipline.

Vision for the Future: Yoga for All, Yoga Every Day

The concluding session featured spiritual leaders and Yoga experts such as HR Nagendra, Sri Bharath Bhushan, Dr. Ananda Balayogi, and Swami Mukundananda. Their collective vision was clear—“Yoga for all, every day”.

They stressed that Yoga Connect 2025 is more than just an event. It is a transformative movement that merges ancient Indian wisdom with global aspirations for peace, health, and sustainability.

As IDY 2025 approaches, the Ministry of Ayush urges everyone to make Yoga a lifelong habit. Through such sustained practice, the world can achieve true harmony—personal, social, and planetary.
