Young Civil Servants Shaping India’s 2047 Vision

RR Team, September 1, 2025August 31, 2025
MUSSOORIE, August 31: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration’s (LBSNAA) new 800-seater auditorium, Kartavyashila, built at a cost of ₹50 crore. He described the facility as a “crucible of ideas, debates, and inspiration” for the 2025 batch of civil service trainees.
Addressing the 100th Foundation Course, Dr. Singh reminded the young officers that they are “the architects of 2047 India,” emphasizing their responsibility in shaping the nation as it approaches its centenary of independence. “This course marks your transition from academic learning to structured public service,” he noted, highlighting the importance of integrity, adaptability, and citizen-centric governance.

Diversity and Grassroots Focus

The 2025 cohort includes trainees from 19 civil services, including All India Services, Central Services, and the Royal Bhutan Civil Service, reflecting the inclusive nature of India’s administration. Dr. Singh also inaugurated the One District One Product (ODOP) Display Hall & Facilitation Centre at LBSNAA, aimed at linking local enterprise with national markets and instilling appreciation for grassroots livelihoods among trainees.

Training Innovations and Experiential Learning

Dr. Singh highlighted unique training modules, including Himalayan Study Tours, attachments with Central Armed Police Forces, village immersions, and the Aarambh 7.0 programme at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, where trainees will engage with the Prime Minister and other dignitaries. These experiences are designed to foster resilience, teamwork, and empathy alongside professional competence.

Mission Karmayogi and Capacity Building

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s reforms through Mission Karmayogi, which equips officers with continuous learning tools in a rapidly evolving governance environment. He stressed that young civil servants must balance constitutional duty, political realities, and citizen expectations with humility and moral courage, contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047.

Time Capsule and Vision Statements

As part of the ceremony, Dr. Singh oversaw the sealing of the 2024 batch’s vision statements in a time capsule to be opened in 2047. This initiative, suggested by the Prime Minister, encourages reflection on officers’ contributions to nation-building over their careers.

Concluding his address, the Minister urged trainees to embrace their roles as custodians of the Constitution and architects of India’s future. “You didn’t choose the timing of your birth, but you have been entrusted with this responsibility. Treat it as a providential privilege,” he said.
