The awards include one Ashok Chakra, three Kirti Chakras, 13 Shaurya Chakras (one posthumous), one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 44 Sena Medals (Gallantry, including five posthumous), six Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and two Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry). These honours recognise acts of valour and sacrifice across the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Among the notable recipients, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Air Force received the prestigious Ashok Chakra. Kirti Chakra honours were awarded to Major Arshdeep Singh (Army), Naib Subedar Doleshwar Subba (Army), and Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair (Air Force). Shaurya Chakra recipients include Lieutenant Colonel Ghatage Aditya Shrikumar, Major Anshul Baltoo, and Major Shivkant Yadav, among others.
The President also cleared military decorations for 301 personnel, encompassing 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 56 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, nine Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Sena Medals (Distinguished), 43 Sena Medals (Distinguished), eight Nao Sena Medals (Distinguished), 14 Vayu Sena Medals (Distinguished), and 135 Vishisht Seva Medals. These awards acknowledge outstanding service and leadership across all defence services.
“The bravery and commitment of our Armed Forces personnel continue to inspire the nation. These awards are a tribute to their courage, dedication, and selfless service,” said a statement from the President’s office.
The Republic Day honours, widely regarded as the pinnacle of military recognition in India, underscore the nation’s gratitude toward soldiers who safeguard the country and its values.
The recognition includes acts of valor in operational theatres, counter-insurgency, and service during peacekeeping missions. Posthumous awards highlight ultimate sacrifices made by personnel in protecting the nation. The list features soldiers from multiple regiments, naval officers, and air force pilots who have exemplified extraordinary heroism.
