Investment and Job Creation
In just six years, AURIC has allotted 323 plots across 3,029 acres of industrial and 117 acres of mixed-use land. The projects hold an investment potential of ₹71,343 crore and are expected to generate over 62,405 direct and indirect jobs. Currently, 78 units are operational, 62 factories are under construction, and another 184 are preparing to break ground.
Industrial Achievements
Shendra Industrial Area has attracted ₹6,096 crore in investments, creating 14,455 jobs. Notable investors include South Korea’s Hyosung, Perkins (UK), Fuji Silvertech (Japan), Siemens (Germany), and Kohler (USA). In Bidkin, investments worth ₹76,219 crore are driving the region’s growth with companies such as Ather Energy, Toyota Kirloskar, Lubrizol, and JSW Green Mobility, generating over 35,000 jobs.
MSMEs and Inclusive Growth
MSMEs form the backbone of AURIC’s growth, with 135 MSMEs allotted plots in Shendra and 49 in Bidkin. The city also champions women entrepreneurs like Vaishali Ajeet Deshpande of Anukul Power Engineers, Dr. Hershali Sandeep Deshmukh of Turbonova Polymer, and Ms. Payal Naikwad of Rayon Illuminations. To support businesses, office rent for MSMEs has been reduced by 50%, from ₹50 to ₹25 per sq. ft.
Skill Development and Infrastructure
A 20,000 sq. ft. Skill Development Centre is being set up with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to bridge the gap between industry demand and workforce skills. AURIC offers world-class plug-and-play infrastructure, assured utilities, single-window clearances, and e-governance. Advanced systems like a central command centre, underground power networks, and effluent treatment plants strengthen its industrial ecosystem.
Connectivity and Strategic Significance
Strategically located, AURIC is supported by the Samruddhi Mahamarg, upcoming Sambhajinagar–Pune Greenfield Expressway, Jalna Dry Port, and Aurangabad Airport. These logistics facilities align with PM GatiShakti, ensuring efficient connectivity. Being a crucial part of the DMIC, AURIC connects seamlessly with national and international markets, positioning Maharashtra as a hub for global manufacturing.
Leadership and Vision
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated AURIC City in September 2019, alongside the launch of AURIC Hall, its administrative and monitoring hub. Regular visits by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and senior DPIIT officials have reinforced investor trust. Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD of NICDC, highlighted that AURIC reflects India’s vision of creating future-ready hubs of sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth.
A Model for India’s Growth
AURIC is central to Maharashtra’s ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030 and aligns with India’s national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. With robust infrastructure, diverse sectoral clusters, and a thriving ecosystem, the smart city has become a benchmark for industrial development and a catalyst for regional transformation in Marathwada.
