SAIL Achieves ‘Great Place to Work’ Certification for Third Time

RR Team, January 28, 2026January 30, 2026
New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest public sector steelmaker and a Maharatna company, has secured the prestigious ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for February 2026 to February 2027, marking the third consecutive year of recognition. The certification, awarded by the Great Place To Work Institute, India, highlights SAIL’s sustained commitment to fostering a contemporary, agile, and employee-focused workplace culture.

Employee Trust and Workplace Culture

SAIL’s achievement comes on the back of a notable increase in its TRUST INDEX © score, which measures the percentage of employees providing positive feedback during the Institute’s company-wide assessment. The rigorous evaluation by the Great Place To Work Institute recognizes organizations delivering exceptional employee experiences through transparency, fairness, and professional growth opportunities.

Progressive HR Initiatives

SAIL has implemented several forward-looking HR initiatives aimed at empowering employees and aligning performance with organizational goals. Key among these is SAIL DARPAN, a platform promoting transparent, performance-driven evaluation and target-setting. Employees are encouraged to own their growth while contributing meaningfully to the company’s objectives.

Additionally, SAIL provides domain-change opportunities for executives through specialized training programs in collaboration with premier institutes like IIM Kozhikode, Bangalore, Jammu, Raipur, Ranchi, XLRI, and ASCI. These programs focus on marketing, human resources, and other management domains, enabling employees to expand skill sets and career trajectories.

Leadership Remarks

On the occasion of the announcement, CMD SAIL, Shri Amarendu Prakash, remarked, Securing the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for the third consecutive year is a proud moment for all of us at SAIL. This recognition is a reflection of the trust our employees place in the organization and the culture we are collectively building.

Such recognition strengthens SAIL’s commitment to creating an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and employee well-being, reinforcing its status as a leading employer in India’s public sector.
